The CARC Story

CARC, INC. was established in 1973 because our founders believed the developmentally disabled needed a community to
support their needs. CARC believes everyone deserves purpose, so we empower our clients with job opportunities to support the Carlsbad, NM community.

Working at Pecos Valley Pecans is a client-favorite job at CARC. Each day, our clients hand-process pecans from our orchard into the high-quality product that is Pecos Valley Pecans!

Pecos Valley Pecans have always been rooted in purpose. Each year, between 4,000 – 6,000 pounds of pecans are harvested into wholes, halves, mulch or bird food. When you choose to purchase any variety of Pecos Valley Pecans, you are supporting real lives of developmentally disabled individuals in the CARC community.

Our bagged pecan items are hand-processed and packaged by our clients, and your purchase goes beyond pies and pralines. It’s an essential ingredient directly benefiting jobs, independence and growth of the entire CARC community!
